In short: Siphon has no accounts. Your progress stays on your own device, and we don't collect your personal information. Leaderboards store a random device ID, your solve and time, and a nickname only if you choose one. Anonymous play stats (which puzzles get finished) help us improve the game, and you can switch them off. The website has no ads, cookies or tracking. The Android app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device information to show and measure ads (see Ads in the Android app).

Who we are

Siphon is a puzzle game made by [OWNER NAME]. Questions about this policy: support@playsiphon.com.

What stays on your device

The game saves your progress and settings (levels finished, stars, daily results, streak, best scores, sound and rule choices) in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

What we collect

There is no sign-up. Apart from the leaderboard information described below, the game does not send your moves, scores or any other information to us or to anyone else.

When you tap Copy result, your result is copied to your clipboard. It only goes anywhere if you paste it somewhere yourself.

Leaderboards

When you open a Daily, Expert or Grandmaster puzzle and when you finish one, the game sends our server: a random ID made on your device (not linked to your name, phone number or accounts), which puzzle it is, and the moves of your solve. The server replays the moves to check the result and records your move count and how long you took. If you choose a nickname, it's stored with that ID and shown on the leaderboard; otherwise you appear as an anonymous name like "Anonymous Cat #4821".

Friends. Each player also gets a short friend code. If you enter someone's code or open their invite link, the server stores that the two of you are friends, so each of you can see the other's leaderboard results on the Friends board. Your friends see your leaderboard name and your friend code, never your device ID. You can remove a friend at any time from the leaderboard screen, which removes the link for both of you.

This is kept to run the leaderboards. To remove your nickname, clear it on the leaderboard screen. To have your scores deleted, email support@playsiphon.com with the name shown for you on the leaderboard. Nothing else about you is sent, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

Hosting

The game is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Fonts are served from our own site, so loading the game does not contact Google or other font services.

Play stats

To learn which puzzles people finish, where they stop, and whether they come back, the game sends our own server simple play events: the game was opened, a puzzle was started, solved or restarted, a hint was used, a Rush run ended, and (in the Android app) whether a hint video was watched. Each event carries the same random device ID the leaderboards use, the puzzle, the move count and time, and whether you're on the website or the app. No names, no contact details, no location, no cookies, and no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. These stats are only used to improve the game and are never sold or shared.

You can turn this off any time: open How to play and untick Share anonymous play stats. Leaderboards keep working either way.

Ads in the Android app

The website shows no ads. The Android app from Google Play shows ads from Google AdMob: optional short videos you can choose to watch for an extra hint, and occasional full-screen breaks between puzzles. There are no ads during a puzzle or on the Daily.

To show and measure ads, Google collects information from your device, such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, app interactions with ads, and general device information. We don't receive this information in a form that identifies you. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice any time with Ad privacy choices on the app's home screen. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone's settings under Google → Ads.

The app also remembers on your device how many free hints you've used today and when you last saw an ad, so it doesn't show them too often. This stays on your device.

Children

Siphon is not directed at children under 13. The website collects no personal information from anyone. The Android app's ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
